Hunter Patenaude One Spot Short Of $10,000 Dominator Payday
Aurora, Minn. (December 20, 2022) – The 2023 AMSOIL Championship Snocross season opened under frigid conditions in Fargo, North Dakota, with the $10,000 to win AMSOIL Dominator head-to-head showdown leading the way on Friday night.
Hunter Patenaude cruised through the elimination rounds and jumped to an early lead in the two lap winner take all finale before getting landed on and pushed of the track by his rival. Patenaude would rebound for a heat race win to open the championship points series on Saturday but bad luck continued to plague him throughout the remainder of the weekend with finishes of 12-11 in the main events.
Logan Christian stepped up to carry the load for the team finishing in the top 5 in all four of his qualifying rounds. On Sunday, Logie raced to a fifth place finish in the Pro final and heads into the holiday break fifth in overall points.
Rookie Sport rider Nate LaValley qualified for his first ever main event in the class on Saturday where he finished 12th.
The team was scheduled to make two stops at local schools in the Fargo/ Moorhead area, however, a winter storm that rolled through mid-week forced school closures and the visits conducted with the U.S. Air Force had to be postponed to a later date.
The team will have several weeks off over the holidays in preparation for rounds 3 & 4, which will take place at the popular Canterbury Park facility in the Twin Cities metro on January 13-14, 2023.
